Credit where credit is due - I received a phone call from Jaimie this evening who remembered my previous issues and was apologetic for the current issue. She explained that the company feels strongly about customer experience and takes responsibility for issues & omissions when service doesn't go they way they strive to achieve. I bought 2 bags of the premium lump wood charcoal. Mindful of the promised delivery timescale I organised a cook with friends. Needless to say it was a failed delivery. On contacting support I was told there had been a hiccup and was promised it would be with me the following week by special delivery - I was given a 20% discount code for a further purchase. The second delivery failed to arrive- I was frustrated however Jamie from support told me he was embarrassed by the second failure and offered a 30% discount on my next purchase. The goods arrived 3 days later.
The first bag was nothing special. A few big lumps but mostly there was a lot of broken and small pieces that don’t really work in a long cook. The second bag however was much better and more in line with what I expected- it burnt hot and despite initial spitting it settled down and did some good long cooks.
I decided to give them another go and tried to order another 3 bags for delivery with the 30% discount code. That’s where the story starts again . the code states it’s not recognised and therefore not valid. I have emailed twice and had no response and even contacted on the website.
So I’m left thinking- can I be bothered anymore with this kind of hassle or am I just unlucky?

They deliver via their own van (I’m 20 miles away from their location) and let you know on the day of delivery when they plan to arrive.
